PIVOT

Pivot is an American manufacturer of Mountain Bikes, from Enduro to e-bike, from XC to dirt and from gravel to Fat Bike. Before mountain biking dominated the off-road cycling radar, young Chris Cocalis was constantly breaking BMX bottom brackets. Feeling a shortage of quality bikes and components to fuel his passion, Chris designed his first components. By patenting his bottom bracket design with the "Snake Cycles" logo, the seeds of Pivot Cycles were planted when Chris was a freshman at Arizona State University. The drive for innovation led Cocalis from that first patent to the founding of Titus Cycles in 1989, officially incorporating its first bicycle company a year later. Full suspension bikes were pushing convention, as was Titus. In 1991 they presented their first full suspension mountain bike. In 1992, Cocalis met the master machinist and first mountain bike enthusiast, Bill Kibler. Bill built the Titus prototypes at Phoenix's premier aerospace CNC shop in exchange for new bikes. Today Bill Kibler still leads prototype manufacturing, as head of in-house research and development at Pivot Cycles. Through partner relationships, research and development consultant Kevin Tisue was asked to collaborate with Cocalis on the development of a product line of carbon bicycle components. The prospect of building carbon bikes thrilled them both. During the evolution of the Titus estate, Chris and Kevin followed the same path. Their first carbon components together were the prologue to the Pivot Cycles carbon story With the unconditional support of longtime collaborators and a passion for bicycle innovation, Chris Cocalis founded Pivot Cycles in 2007.
