The new range of bike tires has a significant name. In fact, PZero evokes a precise world of reference: it is the iconic Pirelli brand for over thirty years, symbol of maximum technology, exclusive solutions and high performance. It is no coincidence, therefore, that Pirelli has chosen to identify with this brand the new range of bike tires designed for road racing. And, to another competition, the maximum that exists in the world of four wheels, PZero Velo it is inspired by the use of color on the tread. The new Pirelli line, in fact, presents a color code that recalls the language of the PZero from Formula One: silver for Road Racing, red for the Chrono and blue for the Four Season.
SmartNET Silica - Pirelli's latest generation compound patented. Thanks to the unique formulation developed over years of leadership in the motorsport sector, SmartNET Silica® offers riders a truly uncompromising experience.
Thanks to SmartNET Silica®, you will no longer be forced to accept continuous compromises between low rolling resistance and wet grip, grip and durability, puncture resistance and weight.
This innovative Pirelli compound excels in every respect.
ICS - IDEAL CONTOUR SHAPING - For the profile and construction of the new P Zero ™ Velo, Pirelli used the ICS "Ideal Contour Shaping" technology, which works on defining the tire profile.
The use of CAD modeling software, with subsequent finite element analysis (FEM), has allowed to optimize the construction parameters of the tire and its profile and to constantly simulate its performance. P Zero ™ Velo, therefore, offers the best and most effective imprint, which gives grip, stability and reactive and controlled response, in any situation along the way (straight, descent or fold).
FGD - FUNCTIONAL GROOVE DESIGN - For the development of the tread pattern of the P Zero ™ Velo and P Zero ™ Velo 4S (the TT model is totally slick), Pirelli has used the FGD "Functional Groove Design" technology derived from motorsport. The sculpting, which is not only aesthetic, is inspired by that of one of the best Pirelli tires for the SSP (World Superbike category): Diablo Supercorsa.
Corners, depth and distance of the grooves have been studied to optimize the performance in terms of water flow, dry and wet grip, durability, tire feedback, as well as comfort and grip. The design of the tread pattern recalls that of a flash and has very narrow angles in the middle part, with a decisive opening towards the side, to the benefit of water drainage, smoothness, a uniform consumption of the rubber. The sculpting, then, is made with a progressive depth, which improves durability over time and gives great reactivity and controllability of the tire, even in extreme bending conditions
