Preview New R Raymon Models 2022 - AirRay and TrailRay
Raymon has announced two new 2022 models. Although all the specifications are not yet available, two completely different approaches to the idea of e-bikes have been clearly outlined. Two models for two distinct driving styles; the great agility of AirRay, versus the sheer power of TrailRay.
AirRay is light and agile, with a more traditional pedaling feel.
TrailRay is more powerful and more autonomous. For those who want maximum performance.
Power and autonomy are certainly important in an e-bike, but they are not the only aspects that make us have fun. With AirRay, Raymon wanted to increase the handling of the vehicle, bringing it as close as possible to the feeling of a traditional bike, with all the advantages of a new generation e-bike.
The reduced weight of 19.4 kg changes the cards on the table, giving a completely different driving experience. Contributing is the new Yamaha Air Drive engine with its 2.9 kg, which packs the impressive power of 50 Nm. A carbon frame with a revised design drastically reduces weight and gives unparalleled strength.
The Yamaha X LED display, with its minimal design, provides the two essential pieces of information to the rider: charge and assistance mode. It is possible to install an additional display, such as a Sigma model.
For an even more natural experience, the Air Drive motor can handle the shifting for you. The presence of sensors allows the engine to respond in real-time, guaranteeing the level of assistance best suited to the route.
AirRay will be available in three versions: AirRay 10.0, AirRay 11.0, AirRay 12.0
TrailRay comes out as a relentless e-bike. The focus of its design is the increase in power and autonomy, to break down all limits.
Power is provided by the aggressive Yamaha PW-X3 which unleashes an incredible torque of 85 Nm, expressing its full power already in the initial stages of pedaling. Its dimensions have been reduced by 20% compared to the previous model, thus increasing the space between the pedals and the ground.
Even the PW-X3 can autonomously change the level of assistance thanks to dedicated sensors. Coupled with the intuitive Yamaha X screen, you'll be free to focus on the path ahead.
The aluminum frame has been optimized for 29 ”wheels and the rear has been shortened to increase the handling of the bike in the strait.
It is possible to vary the trim between two different excursions: 170/160 mm and 150/140 mm. In addition, the battery compartment allows you to use a large variety of batteries.
The other strong point of the TrailRay is its battery. The autonomy has been significantly increased with an 835 Wh battery. With so much charge it will no longer be necessary to plan the itinerary for fear of being left without assistance.
