Good first!

Finally the 2018 season of the Red Hook Crit opened its doors.

First stop in the scenic Brooklyn, which welcomed about 280 athletes of all nationalities

After the second place in the general classification of 2017 Filippo Fortin and the Team Bahumer are back aggressive, against the battleships of the Specialized Rocket Espresso team and the Cinelli Team.

Races conditioned by the rain, which accompanied the riders throughout the weekend.

After qualifying and repechage, our Bahumer Team athletes have defended themselves:

in fact, in fact 3 have had access to the finals, Filippo Fortin, Giovanni Longo and Francesco Martucci.

Departure under a light rain, which has however made the race difficult and full of pitfalls. In races with such high average speeds a slip affects the final result.

The Specialized Rocket Espresso team began to attack from the very first laps, keeping a very high pace and keeping it until the end. Fortin remained in the wake, trying to exploit the forcing of the strong American team.

After several laps, Filippo based the energy saving race to try to attack in the last round.

The last round is as compelling as it is delicate; Fortin tries to take as little risk as possible, and thanks to a pass a few meters from the finish he manages to win the sprint and get the better of the American Justin Williams and the British Alec Briggs. With this victory he is now the man to beat, becoming a leader in the championship.

The other finalists of Team Bahumer are more delayed, with Francesco Martucci closing in 52nd place and Giovanni Longo in 63rd.

However, the balance of the trip is excellent, with the colors of Team Bahumer - Ridewill on the highest step of the podium.

Congratulations to Filippo Fortin from all Ridewill staf!
